Charlton’s EFL Trophy group confirmed

Charlton Athletic have been drawn alongside Sutton United, Crawley Town and Aston Villa’s U21 side in Group B of the 2023-24 EFL Trophy.

The Addicks progressed out of Group I last season – finishing second behind Colchester. However, the Addicks were knocked out in the second round after a 3-2 defeat at Plymouth.

Sutton and Crawley both ply their trade in League Two. Aston Villa’s U21 side finished fifth in the Premier League 2 Division 2 table.

Group stage matches are due to start in the first full week of September and must be completed by November 22.

Fixture information for all three ties will be announced once confirmed.
