Charlton’s Lee Bowyer in the dark over his odds dropping to be next Huddersfield Town boss
BY RICHARD CAWLEY
Lee Bowyer says that he has had no contact from Huddersfield Town – the Charlton Athletic boss emerging as the betting favourite to replace Jan Siewert.
The Addicks chief has made a hugely impressive start to his managerial career with the Addicks winning promotion to the Championship in May. They are still unbeaten this season and Saturday’s 1-0 win over Brentford put them third in the early standings.
Bowyer attracted interest from QPR and West Bromwich Albion in the summer but ended up signing a new 12-month deal with Charlton.
Asked about his odds dropping to be the next Huddersfield manager, Bowyer told the South London Press: “I don’t know why – because I don’t know anything about it. Everyone just goes on the odds and think ‘but that means he is leaving’.
“So it’s crazy. I’ve not heard anything. Nothing has come through to me.
“It’s flattering but at the end of the day we have turned things around a bit here.
“I haven’t spoken to my agent and he hasn’t called me. So I don’t know where it has come from.”
