Chelsea defender pens new deal until 2027

Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell has signed a new deal with the club, which will keep him at Stamford Bridge until the end of the 2026-27 season.

The England international has made 80 appearances for the west Londoners since joining from Leicester City in 2020 for £45million.

Left-back Chilwell, who won the Champions League with the Blues under Thomas Tuchel, has scored twice this season and made 25 appearances in all competitions.

A long-term knee injury limited his playing time last season.

“I feel very settled at Chelsea and have really enjoyed my time on the pitch here,” said Chilwell.

“I’m very pleased the club want me to be part of the project long-term, and I am very happy to sign this extension to my contract.

“We are working hard for success and I will do my best to bring more smiles to the faces of the fans who have made me feel so welcome.”
