Clapham’s Alexander Sims collects 10 points in fine race of Formula E season

Alexander Sims finished 19th in The ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.The South Londoner, competing for Mahindra Racing, ended on 54 points.

Dutchman Nyck De Vries (Mercedes-Eq Formula E team) was crowned the champion with 99 points. Swiss driver Edoardo Mortara (92) and Britain’s Jake Dennis (91) were second and third respectively.

Clapham’s Sims started fourth on the grid at the Berlin E-Prix but finished a spot lower with his best lap clocked at 1:09.223. He was 8.453 seconds behind race victor Norman Nato.

Sims collected 10 points from his final event of the season.

He graduated to Formula E after years as a BMW works driver in GT racing, where he raced with his former team-mate Antonio Felix da Costa.
