Coventry boss Frank Lampard: Joe Edwards looking forward to Millwall return
Frank Lampard says Coventry assistant manager Joe Edwards is looking forward to returning to Millwall for the first time since being sacked in February.
Ex-Chelsea coach Edwards had a 19-game spell in charge of the Lions after Gary Rowett stepped down.
He was replaced by Neil Harris after a run of seven defeats in eight games left the club one point above the Championship relegation zone.
Edwards made a coaching return recently by joining Lampard with Coventry.
“He is looking forward to it, but you have to take emotions out of these things because we’ve all been there,” Lampard said.
“I’ve gone back to previous clubs, and it brings a different feeling. We’re all human to that, but we’ll just approach the game and try to win the game. We’ll try to understand Millwall’s strengths and possible weaknesses.
“We’re very professional about it. We’re here to try and help this club and we know we’re in a moment of wanting to improve so that’s out main focus.”
