Croydon boxing club backing Williams to win national title after success in London section of tournament

Jason Williams was crowned a winner in the 2024 London Development Championships in Feltham at the end of last month.
Williams won the junior B under-66kgs division following a controlled, dominant and very mature performance against a tough and durable opponent from Islington Boxing Club.
Williams – who boxes for Impact Amateur Boxing Club/Croydon Boxing Gym – prevailed by unanimous points decision as he executed the game plan devised by head coach Ted Bami, who won a European title in the professional ranks.
Bami said: “As soon as the first bell rang he never looked back.
“He outworked, outpunched, outwitted and beat his opponent in all departments in the three rounds – showing slick skills beyond his years.
“We believe he can go all the way to become national champ.”
Williams is a young man of few words.
He said: “I train hard to fight easy.” That was very evident in his latest victory.
Williams progresses to the national quarters and is set to compete again on October 19 and 20.
