Croydon boxing club celebrating first national champion as Williams wins weight class at England Boxing event

Jason Williams is a national champion after winning his weight class at the England Boxing National Development Championships in Kettering.

Williams is the first boxer from Croydon Boxing Gym (Impact Boxing) to win a national title.

He won 5-0 against Sajans Brencis (Walsall Wood) in his under-66kg male category.

Williams also prevailed by the same score in his semi-final, also at the same venue, as he defeated Riley McAllister (Norwich City).

National Development Champion in the -66 kgs junior male category division in Kettering following an unanimous points victory in his semi finals on the 19th October 2024 & the final on the 20th October 2024 respectively.

The South London gym became England Boxing affiliated just more than two years ago.

Williams said: “First of all, it’s all glory to god. God secured me this win and I am just full of joy.

“Ted Bami (his coach) is the best man. He always pushes me and tells me the right thing to do. I listen to him in sparring and when I am fighting and this is how I got this national title.”
