Crystal Palace attacker Michael Olise sidelined for Everton FA Cup clash

Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has confirmed that Michael Olise has suffered a hamstring injury and will miss tomorrow’s FA Cup clash at home to Everton.

The 22-year-old pulled up towards the end of the 3-1 Premier League win over Brentford on Saturday and indicated to the bench he needed to come off.

Olise scored his first brace for the Eagles against the Bees since joining from Reading in the 2021-22 campaign.

The ex-Chelsea and Man City youngster, who missed the start of the season after having hamstring surgery over the summer, has five goals and one assist already to his name this season.

Palace’s next Premier League fixture is at Arsenal on January 20.

“Injuries haven’t changed that much in terms of the ones who have been out for a period of time,” Hodgson said.

“Michael Olise had to come off right at the end as he felt his hamstring with the last sprint he made in the game. He won’t take part tomorrow.

“We have to nurse him through and hope he comes back as quickly as possible.

“The next question will be how long is he out for? But I can’t answer that one.

“We’re hoping this one won’t be like the one that put him out of the game for six months. We don’t think and hope it will be like that.”
