Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner delivers verdict on Millwall FA Cup draw
Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner said he is fully focused on Crystal Palace’s next Premier League outing despite drawing rivals Millwall in the next round of the FA Cup.
Palace will play their South London rivals for the first time since the 2021-22 season when goals from Jean-Philippe Mateta and Michael Olise saw them win 2-1 at The Den.
The draw was made before Glasner’s side booked their place in the last 16 with a 2-0 win at League Two outfit Doncaster on Monday evening.
Millwall knocked out Leeds in the ealry kick-off on Saturday to set up the tie at Selhurst Park.
“I could feel the excitement in the dressing room from all the staff,” said Glasner, with the cup draw being made before the game at the Keepmoat.
“It’s important for our fans – it’s a big rivalry. It’s important for all of us. But in a cup competition, it’s an all-or-nothing game.
“It makes this game even bigger than it is. Against any other team, the target and the goal is the same, winning the game and getting into the quarter-final.
“For me personally, it’s too far away. It’s three weeks away and then in five days we play Everton at home.
“My focus now is on the Everton game.”
