Crystal Palace boss provides Eberechi Eze injury update ahead of Fulham clash

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner says Eberechi Eze is ready to start against Fulham on Saturday.

The Eagles boss played Justin Devenny ahead of the Greenwich-born playmaker due to a persistent foot injury that Eze had been carrying.

Eze, who has not started any of the last two Premier League outings and was left out of the matchday squad against Doncaster in the FA Cup, came on at half-time against the Toffees as Palace fell to a late 2-1 defeat.

“It was a good week for him [Eze] personally, and he’s getting better and better with his foot,” said Glasner.

“I think he’s ready to start [against Fulham]. All the players are fit, everyone trained the whole week. It’s good.”

Tyrick Mitchell was replaced after 60 minutes against Everton, with winter signing Ben Chiwell coming on for the last 30 minutes.

Whichever player starts looks set to come up against Fulham winger Adama Traore.

“I think 90 to 95 per cent of the decisions we take are when we see how good shape our players are in, how they perform in the last game, and what we can expect from them,” Glasner explained.

“And then, maybe, in one or two situations we think: ‘Okay, because of set-plays, maybe we need a tall player,’ or something like this, but both Tyrick Mitchell and Ben Chilwell have the quality to defend Adama Traore.”
