Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson not affected by uncertainty over his future in SE25
Roy Hodgson has still had no discussions over his Crystal Palace future – but is adamant it has not affected his approach.
The veteran boss, 73, is out of contract at the end of the campaign and Swansea City’s Steve Cooper has been linked with a move to Selhurst Park.
Asked if there was any update on his situation, Hodgson said: “No, we haven’t spoken about it. I’m more than happy to let the time pass and see how things progress.
“I don’t have any strong feelings on that subject, we’ll see how it transpires.”
The Eagles also have 13 players out of contract.
Hodgson was asked if that uncertainty – both over himself and also a large swathe of the playing squad – was affecting results and performances.
He said: “I don’t know. This is something I can’t do too much about. I can’t do anything about the players who are out of contract, that would be a club issue – whether they are going to be given new contracts or not. And the same applies with myself. Until such time as I sit down with the hierarchy at the club and we discuss what the way forward should be.
“We just carry on the way we’re going and have to make sure we don’t allow anything like that, which could be something that impacts on the way we play. We’ve got to make sure it doesn’t. It’s certainly not impacting me or the way I’m working and preparing for games – not one jot.
“I would like to think the same applies for the players, although I can’t speak for every single one of them individually – I can only speak for myself.”
