Crystal Palace confirm friendly fixture against Reading

Crystal Palace will travel to Reading for a pre-season friendly as both sides gear up for the 2021-22 campaign.

The match, which will be played in front of supporters, will take place at The Madejski Stadium on July 31 (3pm kick off).

The two teams haven’t faced each other competitively since 2016, when the Eagles beat the Royals 2-0 in the FA Cup.

However, the two teams played in a pre-season fixture in 2018, where Palace ran out 4-0 victors, courtesy of a Wilfried Zaha brace.

Crystal Palace have already confirmed friendlies against Walsall (July 17), Stevenage (July 23), Ipswich Town (July 24), Charlton Athletic (July 31) and Watford (August 7).

The Eagles kick off their 2021-22 Premier League campaign with a trip to Stamford Bridge to play Champions League winners Chelsea on August 14.
