Crystal Palace defender called up to Denmark’s Euro 2024 squad
Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen has been called up to the Denmark squad for Euro 2024.
This summer’s tournament will take place in Germany. Denmark have been drawn in Group C alongside England, Slovenia and Serbia.
Andersen was included in the Denmark squad for the delayed Euro 2020 tournament and was a key player in the team that lost to England in the semi-finals.
The 27-year-old could face his Crystal Palace team-mates Eberechi Eze, Adam Wharton, Marc Guehi and Dean Henderson in Germany should all four make it into Gareth Southgate’s final 26-man squad.
Ex-Fulham and Lyon defender Andersen has 30 senior international caps to his name but is yet to score for his country.
Andersen made 38 appearances for the Eagles last season and captained the team under Oliver Glasner during Marc Guehi’s absence.
