Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen makes goalscoring admission after Man United winner

Crystal Palace defender Joachim Andersen admitted that he needs to find the back of the net more after scoring a stunning strike in their 1-0 win over Manchester United on Saturday afternoon.

The Danish defender opened the scoring – and bagged what turned out to be the winner – in the 25th minute when he met Eberechi Eze’s free-kick on the edge of the box and arrowed a first-time effort beyond Andre Onana.

Andersen, who also kept a clean sheet with 10 clearances at Old Trafford, also scored in Palace’s 1-1 draw with Brentford earlier in the season.

The 27-year-old has started every game under Roy Hodgson this season.

“It was unbelievable to win at Old Trafford,”  Andersen told PalaceTV.

“That goal is something I’ll remember.

“It’s something that I need to improve on.

“I need to score more goals because I’m capable of scoring goals.

“I have the desire to score – I have a pretty good strike actually. I hit it really well.”
