Crystal Palace defender lands England squad recall

Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi has been named in Gareth Southgate’s England squad for the start of their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign.

The Three Lions face Italy and Ukraine this month.

Guehi is one of nine defenders named in the squad.

The former Chelsea player missed out on Southgate’s squad that he took to the World Cup in Qatar at the end of last year.

Guehi, 22, was part of the England team that won the U17 World Cup in 2017. He has represented his country at every level from U16 to the senior team.

He played his first senior match against Switzerland in March 2022.

Guehi has made 62 Premier League starts for the Eagles since making the move across the capital in July 2021.
