Crystal Palace defender makes winless run admission
Marc Guehi has admitted Crystal Palace’s winless run does not “look great”.
Palace are the only Premier League side without a win in 2023 and are five points above the bottom three. The Eagles have only won once – a 2-0 victory away at Bournemouth on New Year’s Eve – in their last 14 outings in all competitions.
Speaking about the Eagles’ current run of form, Guehi told PLP: “It’s not great. But it’s important that we keep working. I’m sure that we will find a way of breaking what is going on right now. It’s just little moments and little details. In any game, we need to score and defend – it’s the basics of the game.”
The 22-year-old captained the Eagles in the 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa last Saturday.
“Extremely disappointed,” said Guehi. “I wouldn’t say they were the better team, but one lapse in concentration and they score. I don’t think we created enough to cause them problems.
“In those games when you’re 1-0 down, you have to go for it. We had a reaction, even though we went down to 10 men and played some good stuff, but it wasn’t enough today (Saturday).”
