Crystal Palace duo trigger contract extensions

Crystal Palace duo Joel Ward and Will Hughes have both triggered one-year extensions in their current contracts, the South London Press understands.

Club captain Ward has featured 25 times in the Premier League for the Eagles this season.

The 34-year-old joined the South Londoners from Portsmouth in 2012 and has recorded 360 appearances for the club.

Ward has featured as a right centre-back under new boss Oliver Glasner and has been included in every matchday squad since the former Wolfsburg manager replaced Roy Hodgson.

The former Bournemouth loanee signed a new one-year extension in June 2023.

Hughes’ contract was also set to expire this summer.
