Crystal Palace eye Wilfried Zaha loan return

Crystal Palace are eyeing an emotional loan return for academy product Wilfried Zaha, the South London Press has been told.

The 31-year-old is thought to be available on loan and the Eagles are exploring the opportunity of re-signing the forward a year on after he left to join Galatasaray.

Croydon-raised Zaha turned down a club-record £200,000 a week deal at the end of the 2022-23 season to chase his dream of playing Champions League.

Zaha made 43 appearances for the Turkish side last season and also made his Champions League debut – scoring in a 3-2 win over Manchester United in the group stage.

He became a bench player under Okan Buruk towards the end of last season as Galatasaray won the Turkish Lig.

Zaha, who has two years left to go on his deal with Galatasaray, made 458 appearances for the Eagles and is the club’s record Premier League goalscorer.

Star attacker Michael Olise left to join Bayern Munich and the Eagles will want to bolster their attacking ranks.
