Crystal Palace goalkeeper set for Colchester United loan

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Owen Goodman is set to join Colchester United on loan.

We reported at the start of June that the 19-year-old stopper was likely to make a temporary exit from the Premier League club.

Goodman has agreed to joining the U’s, who are managed by former Eagles coach Ben Garner.

Goodman was on standby for England’s squad for the U20 World Cup in Argentina but opted not to travel and instead feature for his club in the PL International Cup final against PSV at Selhurst Park.

Provided Palace agree to the Colchester switch it will be Goodman’s first stint away from SE25.

He has played for the Eagles in the EFL Trophy, a 3-0 defeat to Portsmouth in November 2021.
