Crystal Palace offer Wilf Zaha ‘record deal’ to extend Selhurst Park stay

Crystal Palace have reportedly offered Wilfried Zaha £200,000 a week to sign a new deal with the club.

The Daily Mail are reporting that Zaha, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has been offered the most lucrative deal in Palace’s history to sign a new deal at Selhurst Park.

The 30-year-old is Palace’s top goalscorer and appearance holder in Premier League history and made his 452nd outing for the club in Saturday’s 1-0 defeat at home to Manchester City.

It is also reported that Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad have offered the Ivory Coast international a deal worth £9million a season offer – after tax.

“I don’t see any reason why not,” Vieira said when asked whether he believed Zaha would continue at SE25 beyond this season.

“The way he plays and shows passion for winning games, the way he cares about the fans and club, I still believe there is a chance to keep him at the club.

“That is going to be his decision (to make). If there are options and he takes them, it will be a sad moment, but we will have to respect it. He may want to stay here and try to take the club to a different level and build something the fans will always remember.

“It’s still a couple of games and a couple of months before thinking about that (the contract situation) and the way that he’s conducting himself the way he trained. His only focus is about helping the football club, helping the team to win games and to score.”
