Crystal Palace Premier League fixtures 2022-23: Vieira faces former club Arsenal on opening day with Liverpool trip to follow

Crystal Palace will host Patrick Vieira’s former side Arsenal when the 2022-23 Premier League season starts on August 5.

The fixture has been selected for TV coverage and will take place on a Friday night, kicking off at Selhurst Park at 20:00.

Palace picked up four points from a possible six against Mikel Arteta’s side last season.

The Eagles’ first away game of the season will see them travel to Anfield on August 13 to play Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool. The runners-up from last season’s Champions League have bolstered their attacking options by bringing in Darwin Nunez from Benfica in a deal that could rise to £100m.

After a home game against Aston Villa, the South Londoners will then travel to play Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City on August 27.

While the Eagles recorded a 2-0 win against the eventual Premier League winners last time they visited the Etihad, another victory could prove more difficult after City strengthened their firepower by bringing in Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund.

Palace will take on rivals Brighton & Hove Albion on September 17 at the Amex.

Their first game against a newly-promoted side will come on November 12 when they head to The City Ground to take on Steve Cooper’s Nottingham Forest.

The season will then break for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.

When the Premier League restarts, Vieira’s side will host Fulham on Boxing Day and then travel to Bournemouth for New Year’s Eve.

Palace will host Brighton on February 11.

Palace’s final away game of the season on May 20 sees them stay in London for a short trip to Craven Cottage to take on Fulham.

Their final home game of the season at Selhurst Park is against Nottingham Forest on May 28.
