Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha: This hasn’t been one of my best seasons – but I can still achieve my target

Wilfried Zaha is still hoping to finish the season by scoring double figures for Crystal Palace – and feels he has failed to fully hit top gear in the 2019-20 campaign.

The Ivory Coast international has three goals in 30 appearances for the Eagles this season.

“I don’t think I’ve had the best of seasons, personally,” said Zaha. “I feel I should’ve scored more goals – but I still feel like I can make that right now.

“There are nine games left to give it a big push. My own goal was to get double figures this season and I still feel I can do it.”

Palace resume Premier League action at Bournemouth tomorrow evening.

Football had been suspended in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Asked if he was raring to get back to action, Zaha replied: “One hundred per cent. When you are sitting at home thinking ‘are we going to play football again?’ it is the maddest feeling. I’ve never had that before in my whole career.

“It has given us time to sit down, reflect and now we’re back and doing what we love.”
