Charlton v AFC Wimbledon: Lyle Taylor starts against Dons – Pigott and Oshilaja out for Dons

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

Lyle Taylor is fit enough to start Charlton Athletic’s home game against AFC Wimbledon today – but fellow frontman Karlan Grant misses out.

Midfielder George Lapslie, excellent at Portsmouth in the midweek 2-1 victory, is unavailable due to concussion.

Taylor injured his right foot in a tackle with Ben Thompson at Fratton Park – the Pompey midfielder seeing his subsequent red card overturned on appeal – and left Hampshire in a protective boot.

But the striker will play through any pain as he faces his former club, who he left on a free transfer in the summer.

AFC Wimbledon have notable players missing as well with former Addicks youngster Joe Pigott expected to be out for three to four weeks with a thigh injury.

Club captain Deji Oshilaja (ankle) is not available either.

James Hanson has been unwell in the week but makes the bench.

Charlton: Steer, Solly, Bauer, Pearce, Sarr, Reeves, Bielik, Aribo, Fosu, Taylor,  Ajose. Subs: Phillips, Dijksteel, Marshall, Stevenson, Sarpong-Wiredu, Morgan, Hackett-Fairchild.

AFC Wimbledon: McDonnell, Watson, Purrington, Nightingale, Thomas, Wagstaff, Hartigan, Pinnock, Barcham, Soares, Wordsworth. Subs: King, Jervis, Trotter, Hanson, Sibbick, Kalambayi, Burey.
