Crystal Palace v Brighton team line-ups: Joel Ward replaces Aaron Wan-Bissaka for grudge match
By Sam Smith
Roy Hodgson has made just one change to his Crystal Palace side to start against bitter rivals Brighton and Hove Albion this afternoon.
Joel Ward returns from two months out with a groin injury to replace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka who drops to the substitutes’ bench.
Wan-Bissaka, 20, was partly at fault for Bournemouth’s late equaliser in the 2-2 draw last weekend, leaving Josh King free at a corner and the striker tapped home from close range.
Strikers Christian Benteke and Alexander Sorloth are fit but only make the bench as Wilfried Zaha and Andros Townsend continue their partnership up front.
Former Palace forward Glenn Murray starts for the Seagulls.
Crystal Palace: Hennessey, Ward, Tomkins, Sakho, Van Aanholt, Loftus-Cheek, Milivojevic, Cabaye, McArthur, Zaha, Townsend. Subs: Speroni, Kelly, Wan-Bissaka, Riedewald, Lee, Sorloth, Benteke.
Brighton: Ryan; Schelotto, Duffy, Dunk, Bong, Locadia, Kayal, Stephens, Izquierdo, Gross, Murray. Subs: Krul, Bruno, Goldson, Knockaert, March, Baldock, Ulloa.
