Crystal Palace waiting for first victory as derby ends in draw
Crystal Palace drew 1-1 with London City Lionesses on Sunday.
Lizzie Waldie’s header put the Eagles ahead after just three minutes as she met Bianca Baptiste’s corner. Lionesses found an almost instant response through Liz Ejupi.
Palace have opened their FA Women’s Championship with two draws and host Blackburn next on September 27.
Waldie, pictured above in action last season, said: “I was in the right place at the right time, it was a cracking ball from Bianca.
“She just put it exactly where I was and thankfully it went in. I can’t take any praise for that, it was a quality ball.”
