Crystal Palace winger set for extended injury spell

Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise has suffered a setback in his recovery from hamstring surgery.

Olise suffered a grade three tear in France’s U21 European Championship win over Norway in June and the 21-year-old was forced to have surgery on his hamstring when he returned to Selhurst Park.

He shunned interest from Chelsea in the summer and signed a new deal with the Eagles but is now set for an extended spell on the sidelines after suffering a setback in his return.

Olise had posted videos on his social media as he stepped up his return to full fitness.

He became the first-ever Palace player to record double digits for assists in an individual Premier League season after recording 11 – six under Roy Hodgson – in the last campaign.

It is unclear when the former Reading attacker will be available for selection.
