Current crop of AFC Wimbledon players challenged to create their own history – as wait for back-to-back wins is finally over

AFC Wimbledon boss Mark Robinson urged his side to create their own history after their 3-0 win over Ipswich saw his side record consecutive league victories for the first time since October 2019.
The Dons made it six points out of six with two impressive performances in four days – notching eight goals along the way.
And Robinson is keen for his side to press and make consecutive victories a common occurrence rather than a rarity.
“When we first came together as a group, the one thing that the players made clear was that they felt the club talked about the past a lot,” explained Robinson. “I said you have to understand that’s because there’s not much to talk about in the future – you have to make things happen in the future to stop people looking back!
“I said to them after the Accrington game that I believed 5-1 was the biggest away victory we’ve ever had. So great – that’s a tiny little bit of history you’ve created. That’s what you need to keep doing. You keep building your own little bits of history together and then that attachment grows from the fans and they’ll be backing you all the way.
“The first back-to-back [wins] in 18 months it’s nothing revolutionary, but it’s a start and they need to back it up by winning again on Saturday and then again on Tuesday.”
