Daniel Dubois won the vacant WBC Silver heavyweight title as he enjoyed another easy night’s work – taking out the hapless Kyotaro Fujimoto at the Copper Box Arena.
The Greenwich heavyweight now has 13 stoppages on his 14-0 record. And it always looked like his Japanese opponent would put up minimum resistance.
The question is how much Dubois has learned from Saturday’s bout, which also saw him defend his WBO International strap, and in blowing away Ebenezer Tetteh in September to claim the Commonwealth belt.

If Fujimoto threw a punch then I missed it. He was knocked down by a jab in the second round as he stepped forward before a huge right put him down for the full count.
“I landed a sweet shot and that was goodnight,” said Dubois.
“I just thought after the first couple of shots I had to pace myself and let him come to me. I knew I had the power and was really confident in what I was going to do.”
Promoter Frank Warren said: “We are going to do a big show at the O2 Arena in April which will feature Daniel and I hope it will be a big fight for him.
“We have made offers to a lot of top British guys. We have offered Dereck Chisora. He’d have no problem facing a Dillian Whyte or a Joe Joyce.”
Dubois’ 2019 saw him produce five knockout wins and the plan is for him to step up in quality in 2020.
He now holds the WBC title which was formerly in the possession of Brixton’s Dillian Whyte.
The only fighter to take Dubois the distance was wily veteran Kevin Johnson in October 2018.
