Date set for Millwall’s EFL Cup first round tie against Reading
Millwall’s EFL Cup tie against Reading will be staged at The Den on August 8 with a 7.45pm kick off.
The Royals were relegated from the Championship last season but did manage to win in SE16 on their last visit in August 2022, former Charlton defender Naby Sarr scoring the only goal of the contest.
But the Lions got revenge when they triumphed by the same scoreline in the reverse fixture in Berkshire, Andreas Voglsammer converting from the penalty spot.
Millwall did not progress past the first hurdle in the EFL Cup last season, losing 1-0 to League One Cambridge United.
Ticket selling arrangements for the Reading match will be announced soon.
