Denzel Bentley confident of victory in British title eliminator rematch with Mark Heffron

Denzel Bentley looks set for a rematch with Mark Heffron after their British title eliminator ended in a 95-95 draw.

The Battersea middleweight, 25, knocked down Heffron in the second round of Friday’s contest at Bethnal Green’s York Hall.

All three judges marked the contest 95-95, halting Bentley’s run of 13 straight victories since turning professional in 2017. The South Londoner said: “I thought I won it but it was my first time doing 10 rounds – I fell asleep a little bit in the middle of the fight and he managed to pick up the pace a little bit.

“I managed to draw it back towards and end and I thought the knockdown would have pushed me on to win by a point or two.

“The next time it will be a different fight.”
