Dillian Whyte “doesn’t care” about Anthony Joshua rematch

Brixton heavyweight Dillian Whyte insists he is not thinking about a 2023 mega-fight with Anthony Joshua as he gears up for his ring return on Saturday.

The 34-year-old, knocked out in six rounds by WBC champion Tyson Fury in April, headlines at Wembley’s OVO Arena against American Jermaine Franklin.

Matchroom Boxing boss Eddie Hearn is lining up Joshua to box in March and Whyte, left, is in pole position for the gig – provided he prevails this weekend.

“I don’t care about the Anthony Joshua fight now,” said Whyte.

“I’m focused on Franklin. There’s been pressure in all of my fights. I weren’t even an ABA Champion. People forget I had seven amateur fights. I was out there selling tickets hours before I was due to fight. I’m not an Olympian and I was never on Team GB.

“Every fight for me has always been must-win my whole career. I’ve become quite used to that.”
