‘Direct and physical’ – Norwich boss assesses Millwall ahead of Den clash

Norwich City boss David Wagner has described Millwall as a ‘direct and physical’ side ahead of tomorrow’s clash at The Den.

Millwall picked up a point in their 2-2 draw with fellow play-off hopefuls Luton Town on Tuesday evening.

Wagner’s Norwich – seventh in the Championship table – are two points away from the Lions heading to The Den tomorrow.

A brace from Josh Sargent saw the Canaries pick up all three points in the reverse fixture back in August.

Millwall are fifth in the Championship and sit 10 points off the automatic promotion spots.

“They play a certain style,” said Wagner in his pre-match press conference.

“They’re very direct and physical. We have to be ready for this challenge which is in front of us.

“There are not a lot of points between the teams, which makes this challenge more exciting and we are really looking forward to this game.

“You like to, as a professional, face this challenge at home or away against those in and around you.”

Millwall at not lost at home in the league since the 2-0 defeat to QPR back in September.

“I didn’t know that stat,” admitted the Noriwch boss.

“This makes it more interesting. We are desperate to play this game. We like to challenge ourselves.”
