Dons boss Johnnie Jackson confirms Charlton Athletic loanee injury blow
AFC Wimbledon boss Johnnie Jackson has confirmed that Charlton Athletic loanee Diallang Jaiyesimi will be sidelined for a number of weeks with a hamstring injury.
The 24-year-old signed for the Dons on deadline day and scored his first goal for the club in the 2-2 draw with Hartlepool.
Jaiyesimi had made four appearances for the Dons before suffering the injury.
Jackson managed the Jaiyesimi last season when he was in charge of Charlton, playing the former Swindon winger 29 times in all competitions.
“He’s going to be out a while,” said Jackson of Jaiyesimi, who missed last weekend’s defeat at Gillingham and Tuesday night’s defeat at home to Stevenage.
“He will be a big miss. We lost Ayoub Assal in the window and brought DJ in as the like-for-like replacement to give us that x-factor, and now we have lost him.
“We have lost a number of other guys too, which is making it very, very difficult.”
Harry Pell, Huseyin Biler, Jack Currie and Alex Pearce are all sidelined through injury too.
