Dons boss praises young duo after EFL Trophy draw
AFC Wimbledon boss Johnnie Jackson praised young duo Ethan Sutcliffe and Aron Sasu after their EFL Trophy draw with Stevenage on Tuesday evening.
The Dons claimed the extra point in Group K after their 6-5 win on penalties.
Sasu, 18, made his second start of the season against the League One outfit.
Sutcliffe, 19, was starting his first game of the season and played alongside the experienced Alex Pearce.
“They were great,” Jackson told the South London Press.
“Ethan defended really solidly against good players – it was a real strong test for him.

“It was brilliant that he got that test, because they make you defend.
“Steve Evans’ teams put you under pressure and make you defend – he was great.
“And Aron was a threat all night.
“With the pace that he’s got, he just wanted to be positive in the final third and get at people.
“He does it in training – shoot, shifts, scores and puts balls in.
“That’s what we want from our creative forward players and I thought he was a threat all night.”
