Dons boss provides update on transfers and injured Huddersfield Town loanee
AFC Wimbledon boss Johnnie Jackson has provided an update on Kyle Hudlin’s injury and the club’s plans heading into the final few days of the summer transfer market.
The forward picked up a groin injury after making his first start for the club in the 2-0 EFL Cup first-round loss against Gillingham and returned to his parent club Huddersfield for treatment.
Hudlin joined the Dons on a season-long loan after Jack Rudoni completed his club-record move to the Terriers.
The 22-year-old 6ft nine striker scored five goals last season for Solihull Moors as they reached the National League play-off final, only to miss out on promotion following a 2-1 loss to Grimsby Town.
“He’s back up at Huddersfield receiving treatment, and he is outside now doing rehab,” said Jackson.
“Hopefully, he will be back with us before too long.”

Wimbledon completed the signing of midfielder Harry Pell last week after the sale of Luke McCormick to Bristol Rovers.
They have brought in Alex Pearce, Chris Gunter and Josh Davison on permanent deals, while Paris Maghoma and Nathan Young-Coombes have been brought in on season-long loans from Brentford.
The transfer window closes this Thursday at 23:00.
“If something comes up that we feel is going to help us and improve us, then we will look to do that,” added Jackson.

“But I can tell you we have done the bulk of our business. If anything comes up in the last few days, then we will look at it.”
The Dons take on Aston Villa’s U21 side in their EFL Trophy Group J match on Tuesday.
When asked if the tie presented the chance for some of the fringe players to stake a claim in his starting line-up, Jackson said: “Defienlty. There are players there that need minutes and players there that want to try and get into the team.
“We have to utilise them, and it’s a good game for us to try and give a little taste of what senior football is like to some of the youngsters.
“We want to utilise our squad and put a team out that we think could win as well.”
