Dons head coach Robbo: There are at least three things we can do better for Burton’s winner

Mark Robinson bemoaned AFC Wimbledon’s lack of quality in the final third after they fell to a 1-0 defeat to Burton Albion.
The Brewers arrived at Plough Lane at the top of the League One form guide after four straight wins.
A 59th-minute strike from defender Michael Bostwick was enough to settle a dire game of very few chances – leaving Wimbledon perilously close to the bottom of League One as they go into of a pivotal month of fixtures against the teams around them.
“I’d say we didn’t get going, but I just think it was a game of two teams who were nullifying each other really,” explained head coach Robinson. “They’re top of the form guide for a reason. They’re very, very organised so we always knew it was going to be tough to break them down.
“It was a game of very few chances, if any. I’d say the difference was they don’t concede the goal that we’ve conceded – there’s at least three things that we can do better in terms of their goal. And our quality when we did get in the final third wasn’t good enough. Apart from that, it was a very nothing game. But you can see why they are where they are.”
The visitors’ winning goal was avoidable, with Bostwick lashing home on the half-volley after a routine long throw into the penalty area wasn’t dealt with by the Dons – leaving Robinson unimpressed.
He added: “I’ve asked the lads to reflect on the goal, because like I said there’s three things I’ve seen, but I’ve got to know that they’re seeing it – it’s not about me seeing it.”
The Dons now face a crunch trip to relegation rivals Bristol Rovers at the weekend before welcoming Wigan Athletic to Plough Lane next Tuesday in a huge run of fixtures against relegation rivals
Robinson said: “Not each individual game is going to define where we’re going to go. I just said that to the lads. Not that I ever want to say it, but we’d probably have taken a point based on the way the game panned out. It was a bit of a nothing game where we’d have probably taken a point and gone into Saturday.
“What we’ve got to keep doing is keep believing in what we do. The wins will come – we’ve proven already that we can win football matches. We were eighth in the form guide before tonight and we’ve just got to believe in the processes and know that the wins will come.
“I want us to win every single game, but if you get the highs too high and the lows too low then we won’t get to where we need to go to. It’s more about continuously doing what we’re doing, looking at what we didn’t do well enough and then coming up with better solutions.”
