Dons midfielder makes Newport County loan switch

BY RICHARD CAWLEY

AFC Wimbledon midfielder Anthony Hartigan has joined Newport County on loan.

Dons manager Glyn Hodges felt George Dobson’s arrival on a temporary deal from Sunderland would limit the 20-year-old’s game time.

“Hopefully he comes back to Wimbledon with a promotion on his CV,” Hodges told the club’s official website. “We wish Anthony the very best in his spell with Newport County.

“When we knew George Dobson was coming in, it might restrict the amount of game time for Anthony in midfield.”
