Dons midfielder McCormick wants out in this transfer window and will miss Gills opener
Luke McCormick is set to miss AFC Wimbledon’s League Two opener against Gillingham with the midfielder determined to leave.
The South London Press has been told the former Chelsea midfielder is not injured.
McCormick has been given the squad number 21 by the Dons but will play no part when they open their campaign at Plough Lane this afternoon.
Bristol Rovers are believed to be one of the clubs interested in the 23-year-old but so far Wimbledon have yet to receive an offer which meets their valuation.
McCormick was determined to leave as soon as the Dons lost their League One status.
Wimbledon were always resigned to losing Jack Rudoni after their relegation but rejected a number of bids before finally reaching agreement for the attacker to join Huddersfield Town for a club record fee.
McCormick is one of the biggest earners on their books and former club Chelsea are due to take a percentage of any fee if he does move on.
He signed for Wimbledon last July. He had been on the Blues’ books since the age of six.
