Dons vs Milton Keynes postponed – but star striker would have been unavailable
AFC Wimbledon’s League Two clash against Milton Keynes has been postponed due to the home side receiving three international call ups.
But start striker Ali Al-Hamadi would have been missing for Johnnie Jackson’s Dons after being called up to the Iraq senior side for their World Cup qualifiers against Indonesia and Vietnam.
The match was due to take place on November 18, but will now be rearranged for a later date.
Milton Keynes are currently below Wimbledon in the League Two table.
Tommy Smith and two further players – yet to be announced – have been called up for Milton Keynes.
Wimbledon’s statement on Friday afternoon said: “Our match at Milton Keynes on Saturday 18 November has been postponed.
“This is due to the home club having three international call-ups at the time of the scheduled fixture.
“Our striker Ali Al-Hamadi would also have missed the game next week as he has been included in the Iraq squad once again.
“An alternative date for the fixture is close to being arranged, so we will update you on this in due course. Tickets purchased in advance for this fixture will be valid for the rearranged game.”
