Dons want to strengthen striker department in summer window – with exit looking likely for former Charlton forward

AFC Wimbledon want to bolster their options in the striker department this summer.

The South London Press understands the Dons are keen to add two forwards to their ranks over the break, which could see Josh Davison head for the exit door at Plough Lane.

Davison made 36 appearances in League Two this season under Johnnie Jackson but has been unable to nail down a starting spot in the side.

The 24-year-old only started one outing in the fourth tier – the 1-0 defeat at home to Crawley – in the final 14 games of the campaign.

Davison was the club’s record deal of the phoenix era when he joined from Charlton in July 2022.

He has featured 92 times for the Dons, scoring 18 and picking up six assists.

Jackson will be heading into next season with Omar Bugiel signed to a new two-year deal and Josh Kelly – signed from Solihull Moors in January – also committed for the next two seasons.

Zach Robinson has been released by the Dons.
