Dulwich Hamlet match abandoned after Bath striker suffers serious head injury
Dulwich Hamlet’s National League South fixture at Bath City on Tuesday was abandoned after opposition striker Alex Fletcher suffered a serious head injury.
The 23-year-old needed medical attention after crashing into an advertising hoarding in the opening five minutes.
“For now the most important thing is the safety and recovery of Alex, and from everyone connected with Dulwich, we wish him a speedy and full recovery,” said Hamlet in a statement.
Bath City tweeted: “Everyone at the club is deeply saddened by tonight’s events and it has been agreed that the game will not resume.
“Our best wishes and thoughts are with Alex Fletcher.”
