Dulwich Runners in action at The Vitality Big Half

Dulwich Runners fielded a record number of runners in the Vitality Big Half with 82 finishers – eight of those in the top 100, writes Jonathan Whittaker.

Jack Ramm, Tim Bowen and Buzz Shepard all made the top 100 with finishing times nine seconds apart.

Ramm recorded 71:21 and Shephard posted a further improvement to his club M40 record in 71:30.

Shane O’Neill felt that he paid for his PB 10 km time but still ran 71:57. Andy Bond had the best overall performance of the day with another club record for the M45 category – his time of 72:26 the second best for this age group on the day.

Personal bests were also recorded by Tom South, Daniel Mann, James Burrows, Rob Hollands, Martin Belzunce, Grant Kennedy, Shane Donlon, Ben Smith, Eugene Cross and Tom Shakli – all finishing between 75 and 83 minutes.

Marta Miaskiewicz (85:06) just got the better of Ali Campbell (85:15) with both joined by Elkie Mace (87:10), Sara Roloff (87:14) and Polly Warrack (88:49) in the ladies’ top 100.

Warrack had a strong race in her debut for the club, recording a PB by three minutes – other PBs were produced by club coach Katie Styles, Roz Johnson, Alice Williams, Yvette Dore and Emma Ibell.

Susan Vernon recorded a club record for the W70 category, finishing in 2 hours 57 minutes.
