Dulwich Runners produce strong showing at Surrey Road 10km

Twenty-nine members were in action in the Surrey Road 10km race at Ham, Richmond with this doubling up as the club’s championships – 12 finishing  under 40 minutes, writes Jonathan Whittaker,   .
Aaron Wilson (ninth) was the pick of the bunch with a rapid 33:39 to seal a top 10 finish.

Andy Bond struggled with illness during the race, finishing creditably in 33:51 (14th) with Andrew Inglis capturing 15th with an excellent 34:01.

Fred Bungay finished strongly in 35:52 (29th) and Tom Shakhli secured a new PB in 36:37 (48th).

Alicja Furmanczyk was the first Dulwich female finisher in 42:09 (180th), achieving a massive PB in the process.

Michelle Lennon (43:39, 224th) and Katie Smith (44:21, 230th) then rounded up the Dulwich top three with well paced runs.

Kay Sheedy was first in the W35 category in the British Masters Trail Championships.

Sheedy averaged five minutes per kilometre on the undulating 30km course in the Kentish North Downs.
