Dulwich Runners round-up: Medal rush at Kent Cross Country Masters

Dulwich ladies and men’s teams enjoyed a super Saturday at a rain-soaked Kent Cross Country Masters at Dartford.

The women’s V35 team started the medal rush with a team bronze. This included another superb individual silver from Elkie Mace, who finished the muddy 5k course in 18:47.

Laura Vincent finished 13th and Joanne Shelton (25th) ran well to secure the team’s bronze medal.

The W45 team went one better with silver. Clare Elms ran a commanding race to secure gold in a time of 19:07 that would have made her third in the W35 age category. Andrea Pickup performed strongly to finish eighth. Yvette Dore made the trio with an assured run in 13th.

Ange Norris ran solo in the W55 category winning the gold from the nearest Kent AC challenger with over a minute to spare.

The men’s V40 team secured bronze. The team was made up of Andy Bond (5th), Stephen Davies (17th), Daniel Mann (21st) and Ian Lilley (28th).

Tony Tuohy (V50) was 10th while Steve Smythe (V60) finished fourth.
