Dulwich Runners round-up: Ramm improves PB at London Cross Country Championships

Dulwich fielded one of its largest ever showings at the London Cross Country Championships, writes Jonathan Whittaker.

The incessant autumn rain made for ankle deep mud in many places, with most runners a minute or more slower as a result.

Jack Ramm was one runner who bucked this trend, improving by more than two minutes from 2018. Despite wearing the wrong shoes he stormed around the 10km course and was rewarded with an outstanding 12th place (38:10).

The rest of the scoring team was Tom South 102nd (42:51), Martin Belzunce 142nd (44:23) and Matt Cooke 157th (44:56) as Dulwich placed 14th. Will Lawn was 206th (46:26) on his debut.

The ladies team was led by Elkie Mace, who finished in 14th (24:25) on the 6km course. Marta Miaskiewicz was 43rd (26:02). The team’s eighth place finish was cemented by Anna Thomas 74th (27:25) and Tess Bright 87th (27:47).

Three Dulwich Runners were selected for England in the British and Irish Masters Cross Country Championships at Aintree. Clare Elms took first place in the W55 category.

Ros Tabor finished fourth in the W70s and Andy Bond placed seventh in the M45 category on his England bow.

Emma Ibell, Yvette Dore and Michelle Lennon helped Dulwich win the women’s team prize at the Bedgebury Half Marathon.
