Dulwich Runners’ senior athletes enjoy successful Saturday

Dulwich Runners masters athletes had a successful Saturday at both ends of the country, writes Jonathan Whittaker.

Their men’s 45-plus age group quintet of Tom South, Buzz Shepherd, Alex Loftus, Ade Russell and Andy Bond won gold in the British Masters Cross Country relays in Derbyshire.

In an unseasonably hot Nonsuch Park, Dulwich also won various medals in the Surrey Cross Country Masters Championships. On a gruelling 6.2km course, there was silver for Ola Balme in the W55 age group, gold for the W55 team of Ola, Lucy Pickering and Michelle Lennon, bronze for Alicja Furmanczyk in the W35 and silver for Mike Mann in the M70-plus category.
