Early bookies’ favourites to replace Patrick Vieira at Crystal Palace – Former Eagles boss tops the list

Former Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson is currently the bookies’ favourite to replace Patrick Vieira as the next permanent manager.

The Eagles sacked the French World Cup winner on Friday morning.

Palace – 12th in the Premier League table – are without a win in 2023 and sit three points above the relegation zone.

Hodgson – who was relegated with Watford last season after being parachuted in to replace Claudio Ranieri – took charge of the Eagles 162 times across a four-year period.

According to skybet, Hodgson, 75, is the current favourite at 5/4, with U23 manager Paddy McCarthy second favourite at 5/1.

Also on the list are Jesse Marsch and Marcelo Bielsa – both at 7/1.

The South Londoners travel to The Emirates on Sunday to take on league leaders Arsenal, with McCarthy expected to take charge of the game.
