East Street Investments hold EFL discussions over Charlton Athletic takeover

East Street Investments were hoping to move their takeover of Charlton Athletic closer to completion after being interviewed by the EFL this week.
ESI have agreed a deal to buy the Championship side off Roland Duchatelet.
Duchatelet and Lieven De Turck, who had been tasked with conducting takeover talks on behalf of the Belgian, were interviewed by the EFL last week.
ESI need to past the governing body’s owners’ and directors’ test.
Tahnoon Nimer, Matt Southall and Jonathan Heller, who would comprise the new board, had a joint conference call with the EFL this week.
Charlton manager Lee Bowyer was due to meet Southall, due to be the new chairman, last night.
