Ellie Scotney added to May 21 show at 02 headlined by Buatsi-Richards
Catford’s Ellie Scotney has been added to the undercard of the all-South London light-heavyweight clash between Joshua Buatsi and Craig Richards on May 21 at Greenwich’s 02 Arena.
Scotney is 4-0 in the paid ranks and was pushed hard by Jorgelina Guanini on her way to winning the WBA Intercontinental super-bantamweight title at Alexandra Palace in February.
She puts that title on the line against Argentina’s former world champion Maria Cecilia Roman (16-6-1).
Scotney turned professional at the end of 2020 and the Covid outbreak undoubtedly slowed her progression.
All of her victories have been on points.
Scotney was cut over the left eye and deducted a point for holding against Guanini. The scorecards were close – 96-94 twice and 96-95.
