Ellie Scotney to defend IBF world title at Wembley’s OVO Arena on September 30

Catford’s Ellie Scotney makes the first defence of her IBF super-bantamweight world title against Laura Soledad Griffa at Wembley’s OVO Arena on September 30.

The South Londoner (7-0) won her belt in June as she comfortably outpointed Australia’s defending champion Cherneka Johnson on the undercard of Sunny Edwards’ shutout points win over Andres Campos.

Argentina’s Griffa (20-8) gets her second shot at the IBF strap after falling short in her challenge against Marcela Eliana Acuna in August 2018.

She has also challenged for the IBO super-bantamweight and featherweight titles and has won both of her fights in 2023.

Jai Opetaia is another headline act on the show. He will make the first defence of his IBF and Ring Magazine cruiserweight world titles against Jordan Thompson.
